A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH KIWANIS ACTIVITIES,
INC./DBA JOSEPH PFEIFER KIWANIS CAMP TO PROVIDE A YOUTH
PREVENTION PROGRAM IN WEST LITTLE ROCK.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and
treatment programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Proposals to obtain organizations to
provide youth prevention programs in targeted neighborhoods for Little Rock residents; and,
WHEREAS, a five- member selection committee identified and recommended Kiwanis
Activities, Inc. /dba Joseph Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp to provide services in West Little Rock.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with Kiwanis
Activities, Inc. /dba Joseph Pfeifer Kiwanis Camp for neighborhood -based prevention services for youth
in West Little Rock.
SECTION 2. The contract will be for one -year for the period of January 1, 2000 through
December 31, 2000, and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon satisfactory
performance and mutual agreement of the parties.
SECTION 3. The contract amount shall not exceed $43,500.00 and will be funded through
FUTURE -Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention and intervention programs.
SECTION 4. Any contract entered into prior to the passage of the City Budget Ordinance for the
Year 2000 shall contain a non - appropriation clause.
