WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and treatment programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development; and, WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Proposal to obtain organizations to provide youth intervention (YIP) programs in targeted neighborhoods for Little Rock residents; and, WHEREAS, a five - member selection committee identified and recommended that service contracts with the following programs: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with the following organizations for gang intervention services for youth: SECTION 2. The contract's terms shall be for one year, from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2000, and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the parties. SECTION 3. Funding for these programs is from FUTURE- Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention and intervention programs.
