A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH
SIX ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE YOUTH
INTERVENTION PROGRAMS (YIP) IN TARGETED
NEIGHBORHOODS.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has been committed to prevention, intervention and
treatment programs to enhance public safety, community- building, and youth development; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock released a Request for Proposal to obtain
organizations to provide youth intervention (YIP) programs in targeted neighborhoods for Little
Rock residents; and,
WHEREAS, a five - member selection committee identified and recommended that
service contracts with the following programs:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contract negotiations with
the following organizations for gang intervention services for youth:
SECTION 2. The contract's terms shall be for one year, from January 1, 2000 to
December 31, 2000, and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon satisfactory
performance and mutual agreement of the parties.
SECTION 3. Funding for these programs is from FUTURE- Little Rock tax revenue
specified for prevention and intervention programs.

SECTION 4. Any contract entered into prior to the passage of the City Budget
Ordinance for the Year 2000 shall contain a non- appropriation clause.
