8 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.

10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
11 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
12 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Rhodes
13 & Associates, the low bidder meeting specifications, in the amount of $137,236 to provide
14 property, boiler, telephone and EDP equipment insurance for the City of Little Rock.
15 SECTION 2. Upon City Manager approval, this contract may be extended for five
16 additional years.
17 SECTION 3. Funding for this project is available in account number 100- 010 -6500-
18 6031/6081.
19 SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
20 adoption.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the bid submitted by
Rhodes and Associates be accepted. The apparent low bidder, RKF& L was disqualified for
failure to provide coverage for vacant properties as called for in the bid. The value for vacant
buildings exceeds $9,500,000 and if you were to factor out the premium for those buildings,
Rhodes Bid would be competitive with the RKF &L bid. It is further recommended that with
City Managers approval this contract may be extended five (5) additional years.
