A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE
AMENDMENTS TO THE ARTS AND
HUMANITIES PROMOTION COMMISSION
BYLAWS.

WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Board of Directors adopted the Little Rock Arts and
Humanities Promotion Commission bylaws on July 7, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the commission functioned as an "outside agency" and received staff support
from the City Manager's Office at that time; and
WHEREAS, the staff support for the commission was transferred to the Department of
Parks and Recreation on January 1, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the bylaws did not reflect this change the subsequent changes in procedures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve the amendments to the Arts and
Humanities Promotion Commission Bylaws.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.

BYLAWS OF THE LITTLE ROCK
ARTS & HUMANITIES PROMOTION
COMMISSION
ARTICLE III, Section G
To submit a proposed budget therefor to the
Little Rock Board of Directors; and to make
expenditures in accordance with the annual
budget adopted by the City of Little Rock.
ARTICLE V, Section 3.
No member shall hold more than one office
at a time, and no member shall be eligible to
serve more than two terms in each office.
ARTICLE VI
Duties of Officers. Section 1.
The Chairman and the Director of the
Commission shall represent the Commission
at City budget hearings.
Section 4. The Treasurer shall
keep an accurate accounting of income and
expenditures of the Commission; shall
present a monthly financial statement to the
Commission; and shall, on order of the
Commission, pay all bills promptly. The
Treasurer may be aided in the execution of
these duties by a member of the Staff.
A fidelity bond shall be purchased or
provided for the position of Treasurer and
for the Director of the Commission.
