2 A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE A PORTION OF DOWNTOWN
3 LITTLE ROCK AND A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST LITTLE
4 ROCK DISASTER AREAS AS A RESULT OF THE JANUARY 21,
5 1999, TORNADO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 432

7 WHEREAS, as a result of the January 21, 1999, tomado a major portion of downtown Little
8 Rock and southwest Little Rock were devastated and rendered disaster areas requiring substantial
9 renovation, demolition, and other construction work, and
10 WHEREAS, by declaring an area a disaster area the City can permit construction work to
11 be extended an additional three hours on weekdays and also on Sunday,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
13 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
14 SECTION 1: The areas noted on the maps attached as Exhibits A and B to this Reoltuion
15 are declared disaster areas in downtown and southwest Little Rock and construction in these areas
16 may be extended to the time period between 6:00 a.m. and 8 :00 p.m. on weekdays and on Saturdays
17 until September 1, 1999.
