3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
4 ENTER INTO A FRIENDSHIP CITIES AGREEMENT
5 BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PETITE PIERRE,
6 ALSACE REGION, FRANCE AND THE CITY OF
7 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, UNITED STATES OF
8 AMERICA.

10 WHEREAS, in order to share cultures and further develop understanding and
11 cooperation between the two cities, the City of La Petite Pierre, Alsace Region, France and
12 the City of Little. Rock, Arkansas, United States of America, have agreed to establish a
13 Friendship of Cities relationship based on good faith and mutual cooperation; and
14 WHEREAS, on behalf of our respective cities, we hereby agree to promote our
15 Friendship Cities relationship through mutual cooperation and exchange of culture, sports,
16 education, arts, science, technology, and trade through the establishment of an interchange
17 of administrative data, and through the promotion of tourism and a broad range of civil
18 interchanges.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
20 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and the Mayor of the
22 City of La Petite Pierre, Region of Alsace, France hereby agree to enter into a Friendship
23 Cities Agreement between the City of La Petite Pierre, Region of Alsace, France and the City
24 of Little Rock, Arkansas, United States of America.
25 SECTION 2. The Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into any written
26 documents necessary to reflect this friendship agreement.
27 SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
28 adoption.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
In order to share cultures and further develop understanding and cooperation
between the two cities, the City of La Petite Pierre, Alsace Region, France and the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, United States of America, have agreed to establish a Friendship
Cities relationship based on good faith and mutual cooperation.
On behalf of our respective cities, we hereby agree to promote our Friendship Cities
relationship through mutual cooperation and exchange of culture, sports, education, arts,
science, technology, and trade, through the establishment of an interchange of
administrative data, and through the promotion of tourism and a broad range of civil
interchanges.
This document is completed in both the French and English languages with both
texts being equally authentic. This protocol shall become effective on Monday, July 19,
1999, with the signatures of both parties listed below.

Afin de partager une reciprocite culturelle et de developper davantage 1'entente
et la cooperation entre les deux villes, la Ville de La Petite Pierre, en Alsace,
France, et la Ville de Little Rock, Arkansas, Etats -Unis D'Amerique, ont
consenti a etablir une relation de Villes d'Amitie encree dans la bonne foie et la
cooperation mutuelle.
Au nom de nos villes respectives, nous consentons, par la presente, a
promouvoir notre relation de Villes d'Amitie a travers la cooperation mutuelle et
les echanges culturels, sportifs, educatifs, artistiques, scientifiques,
technologiques et commerciaux, et a travers 1'etablissement d'un lien
d'echanges administratifs, ainsi qu'a travers la promotion du tourisme et des
echanges civils varies.
Ce document est rempli dans ses deux versions, francaise et anglaise, et les deux
textes sont dotes du meme degree d'authenticite. Ce protocole entre en vigueur
le lundi 19 Juillet, 1999, avec la signature des personnes nommees ci- dessous.
