104951 • RESOLUTION 10,495 • 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, 5 BUREAU OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION, TO 6 PROVIDE ADULT RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT 7 SERVICES IN 1999; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, Little Rock Budget Ordinance 17,897, (December 15, 1998) appropriated funds for 10 FUTURE Little Rock Special Projects; and, 11 WHEREAS, the City seeks to contract with an organization to provide adult substance abuse 12 treatment services in a residential setting for Little Rock residents; and, 13 WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into a one -year contract with the Arkansas Department of 14 Health, Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention to provide residential substance abuse treatment 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 services to Little Rock residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Arkansas Department of Health, Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, for an amount not to exceed $335,500, for the term of January I, 1999, through December 31, 1999. Said contract will allow for one additional one - year extension, at the sole option of the City based upon acceptable performance and sufficient funding. SECTION 2. Funding is available from City of Little Rock, FUTURE Little Rock — Prevention, Intervention and Treatment dollars.
