3 A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE LITTLE 37
4 ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT; AND FOR OTHER
5 PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, the City has taken numerous steps in the past to support its public
e school programs including, but not limited to, restrictions on the extraterritorial
9 extension of utilities, creation of an Education Commission as part of the Future- Little
10 Rock process, and support for various programs, and
11 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock believes that public
12 education is an important right secured to its citizens that should be supported and
13 protected and enhanced by elected officials,
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
15 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

Section 1. The Board states its support for the programs and educational
opportunities for students available in the Little Rock School District for grades K -12,
and further states its intent always to take official actions, or to adopt official policies,
that support the District, and further states its intent to discourage any actions or
policies that are not in the best interests of the Little Rock School District, provided
such discouragement does not conflict with the overall best interests of the City.
