3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH UAMS ARKANSAS CARES, FOR 19
5 WOMEN'S EVENING OUTPATIENT TREATMENT SERVICES IN 1999; 1
6 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, Little Rock Budget Ordinance 17,897, (December 15, 1998) appropriated funds for
9 FUTURE Little Rock Special Projects; and,
10 WHEREAS, the City seeks to contract with an organization to provide women's evening
1 1 outpatient substance abuse treatment services for Little Rock residents; and,
12 WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into a one -year contract with UAMS Arkansas CARES to
13 provide organized nonresidential substance abuse treatment services to Little Rock women .
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
15 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
16 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with UAMS Arkansas
17 CARES, for an amount not to exceed $157,500, for the tern of January 1, 1999, through December 31,
18 1999. Said contract will allow for two additional one -year extensions, at the sole option of the City based
19 upon acceptable performance and sufficient funding.
20 SECTION 2. Funding is available from City of Little Rock, FUTURE Little Rock — Prevention,
21 Intervention and Treatment dollars.
