A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES/
DIVISION OF YOUTH SERVICES AND THE ARKANSAS
COALITION FOR JUVENILE JUSTICE IN THE AMOUNT OF
$79,000.00 FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT
INTERVENTIONS.
WHEREAS, Little Rock's Midtown area has been identified as the "most in
need" for prevention and treatment interventions for juveniles; and
WHEREAS, the stated goal for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
Prevention (JJDP) funds is "to develop or enhance local comprehensive
delinquency prevention "; and
WHEREAS, to qualify for funding, the grant application must be submitted
by a unit of local government that includes cooperative agreements established
with private non -profit organizations for implementation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock's co- application partners within the
Midtown area would be: New Futures, Recovery 2005 and Black Community
Developers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors authorizes a grant application to the
Arkansas Department of Human Services/Division of Youth Services and the
Arkansas Coalition for Juvenile Justice in Midtown Little Rock in the amount of
$79,000.00, for Prevention, and Treatment Interventions, including services
provided by the co- application non -profit partners of New Futures, Recovery
2005, and Black Community Developers.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
