102440 0 RESOLUTION NO. 10,244 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 1999 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. (TIP) Whereas, the recommended 1999 TIP was prepared and prioritized by the Department of Public Works; and Whereas, two projects are included in this year's submission; and Whereas, the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act ( ISTEA) funding process requires a competitive analysis of all projects submitted within the identified urbanized boundaries; and Whereas, a total of approximately $ 2.5 million in projects will be selected during this process if additional ISTEA monies are not appropriated; and Whereas, if Little Rock is successful in competing for available funds, a total match of approximately $500,000 will be required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to submit the 1999 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the Little Rock projects. M M um 0 0 170 1999 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROPOSED South Loop Mablevale West Road to Alexander Road This project consists of the first phase of a new divided arterial roadway with a grass median, four lanes and sidewalks. This phase will construct approximately one mile of two lane roadway and one railroad overpass bridge. The $108,000 design cost only of overpass bridges was previously approved in the 1998 TIP. The approximate cost of this first phase is estimated to be $ 2,739,705. Mablevale Pike Gum Springs to Geyer Springs This project consists of widening approximately 3600 feet of existing narrow two lane road to four lanes, with five lanes at major intersections. Two sidewalks, curbs and underground storm drainage will also be added. The approximate cost of this project is estimated to be $2,955,946.
