A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE EXCHANGE
OF REAL PROPERTY IN AND ALONG THE LAKE
MAUMELLE WATERSHED, DESIGNATED FOR
THE USE AND BENEFIT OF THE LITTLE ROCK
MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS; AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Municipal Water works Board of
Commissioners approved the exchange of one parcel of property mostly out of the
Lake Maumelle watershed for another parcel located entirely within the Lake's
watershed owned by Patrick G. Malmstrom; and
WHEREAS, the reason for the exchange is that the Malmstrom property is
closer to Lake Maumelle and is more crucial for protection of water quality; and
WHEREAS, with the land exchange the Water Works will receive the
acreage closest to Lake Maumelle; and
WHEREAS, restrictive covenants will be placed on the 3.12 acre parcel
that will be transferred to Patrick G. Malmstrom to prevent pollution of the raw
water source.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve the exchange of
real property.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute the
necessary documents for the property exchange.
