A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT WITH NEW FUTURES
FOR YOUTH TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
ON YOUTH RELATED ISSUES AND OTHER SPECIFIC
SERVICES.

WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has remained committed to providing quality youth
services through contracts for prevention, intervention and treatment services; and,
WHEREAS, to ensure a continuation of quality service contracts, in 1997 the City
contracted with an outside agency to provide technical assistance and other specified services for
the City Board, staff and designated prevention, intervention and treatment programs; and,
WHEREAS, the sole source service contracts was eligible for renewal for one additional
year based on performance review, Board approval and appropriations; and,
WHEREAS, a six- member review committee recommended that the service contract
with New Futures for Youth be renewed.
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to renew, subject to appropriations, a
sole source contract with New Futures for Youth for technical assistance and other specified
services for the City Board, staff and designated prevention, intervention and treatment
programs.
Section 2. The City intends to contract for a twelve -month period. Funding for 1998 is
contingent upon appropriations by the Board of Directors in the adoption of the 1998 budget.
Section 3. Funding for this contract is from FUTURE- Little Rock tax revenue specified
for prevention and intervention programs.
