A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
13.24 ACRES LOCATED ON JAMISON ROAD TO BE
USED TO STORE VEHICLES FOR THE NEW CITY
IMPOUND FACILITY AT 3312 J.E. DAVIS DRIVE FOR
THE GENERAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Impound Facility has been in operation since
February, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the current building leased by the City at 2505 West Dixon Road is
inadequate for the amount of public traffic that utilizes the facility and does not provide a
comfortable working environment for staff, and
WHEREAS, the General Services Department is relocating the City Vehicle Impound
Facility from 2505 Dixon Road to 3312 J.E. Davis which provides adequate space for the
Impound Operation as well as the LRPD's Crime Scene Investigation Facility; and
WHEREAS, the sanitation building will be used as office space and vehicles will be
stored across the street from the sanitation building; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department will also use this facility to complete full
accreditation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase 13.24 acres located on
Jamison Road to store vehicles for the new City Impound Facility at 3312 J.E. Davis Drive.
SECTION 2. Funding for this purchase in the amount of $100,00 is available from
the Impound Operation account leaving a balance of $50,000 for land improvements.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
