3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ESTABLISH 377
4 ENTERPRISE FUNDS FOR THE ZOO, GOLF, AND WAR MEMORIAL
5 FITNESS CENTER PROGRAMS.

7 WHEREAS, the City has established Zoo, golf, and the War Memorial Fitness Center
8 programs to promote recreation, education, and fitness for the use of citizens and visitors of the
9 City; and

11 WHEREAS, the goal of the City is make each activity a self - supporting part of City
12 government; and
13
14 WHEREAS, with each activity as a self - supporting part of City government, revenues of
15 all three could be pledged to the revenue bonds as issued to make improvements at the various
16 facilities or to build new facilities; and
17
18 WHEREAS, an enterprise fund type may be used to account for operations that are
19 financed and operated in a manner similar to private business enterprises, where the intent of
20 the governing body is that the costs (expenses, including deprecaition) of providing goods and
21 services to the general public on a continuing basis be financed or recovered primarily through
22 user charges.

24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
25 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

27 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to establish enterprise funds for the Zoo,
28 Golf, and War Memorial Fitness Center activities.

30 SECTION 2. The effective date for establishing the enterprise funds is January 1, 1998.
