NO. 9,760 AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITIES OF LITTLE ROCK AND NORTH LITTLE ROCK FOR MEMS AMBULANCE SERVICE, TO CLARIFY "AMBULANCE SERVICE "; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Little Rock Ambulance Authority ( "LRAA "), d /b /a Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services ( "MEMS ") currently holds the eXclusive franchise to provide all ambulances services (emergency and non- emergency) to North Little Rock per interlocal agreement between the Cities of Little Rock and North Little Rock; and WHEREAS, the interlocal agreement provides that the LRAA shall provide all ambulance services to the Citizens of North Little Rock, and WHEREAS, Little Rock Res. 9,760 authorizes MEMS to continue the delivery of emergency medical services to North Little Rock when, in fact, MEMS had been and continues to deliver all ambulance service to the citizens of North Little Rock since 1986. NOW, THE121, FORI%, BE IT RESOLVED 131' TIII, BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Little Rock, Ark. Res. No. 9,760 (August 6, 1996) is hereby amended as follows: "SECTION 1. In order for the I..RAA to continue the delivery of all ambulance services pursuant to an exclusive 1 anchise in the City of North Little Rock, Arkansas, the Board hereby authorizes the eNCCntiOn ofan Interlocal Agreement with the city of North Little Rock, Arkansas, for five years, beginning on the date the Interlocal Agreement is signed. Upon the eNpirat ion of the five year term, the Board authorizes a month -to-month extension until a formal extension is approved by both cities. SECTION 2.
