A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LITTLE ROCK
BOYS CLUB FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $35,000
FOR A TARGETED YOUTH INTITIATIVE PROGRAM IN
THE SOUTH END OF THE CITY, AUTHORIZING TWO
ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR TERMS AT THE SOLE OPTION
OF THE CITY, AND SUBJECT TO APPROPRIATION;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark. Ordinance No. 17,336
(December 17, 1996) appropriated $425,000 for youth
intervention program (IYIP°) services; and
WHEREAS, providers were solicited through a competitive
bid process for a YIP site in the South End of the City; and
WHEREAS, a Selection Committee reviewed the responses
received, determined the lowest responsible bidder, and
recommends the Little Rock Boys Club for a contract award for
a YIP program at Thrasher Boys Club.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
a contract with the Little Rock Boys Club for YIP services at
Thrasher Boys Club in an amount not to exceed $35,000. The
initial term of the contract shall be for one year. Said
contract shall contain a provision for two one -year
extensions, at the sole option of the city, and subject to
appropriation.
