5 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CiTY MANAGER TO

7 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH JAMESON +
8 ARCHITECTURE INNOVATIONS GROUP FOR THE DESIGN
9 PHASE OF THE REHABILITATION OF THE FORMER R.E.
to
11 LEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AS A MULTI - PURPOSE
12 NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCE CENTER.

15 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock together with other Community
16 Organizations have begun a joint venture to establish an innovative City -wide facility
17
18 that will be dedicated to identifying community issues, solving neighborhood problems,
19 and building capacities within community based organizations and neighborhood
20
associations; and
21
22 WHEREAS, this facility will be located at a critically important neighborhood
23 site, which is the fonner Lee School located at l2th and Pine Streets; and
24
25 WHEREAS, the mission of the Center will be to build capacity within Little
26 Rock Neighborhood Associations and Community Based Organizations.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
28
29 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
30 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with
31 Jameson + Architecture innovations Group in the amount of $170,000 for the design
32
33 phase of the rehabilitation of the fonner R.E. Lee Elementary School as a multi- purpose
34 Neighborhood Resource Center.
35
36 SECTION 2. Funds are available from HUD and the City of Little Rock.
