RESOLUTION NO. 9,878
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH ARKANSAS CHILDRENS'
HOSPITAL, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $450,000
FOR CHILDREN'S ALCOHOL AND DRUG TREATMENT
SERVICES IN 1997, AUTHORIZING TWO ADDITIONAL
ONE YEAR TERMS AT THE SOLE OPTION OF THE CITY,
AND SUBJECT TO APPROPRIATION; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock Budget Ordinancel7,336, (December
17, 1996) appropriated $500,000 for children's alcohol and
drug abuse treatment , and an independent evaluation of same;
and
WHEREAS, Childrens treatment providers were solicited
through a Request for Qualifications process to determine the
best qualified provider of treatment services; and
WHEREAS, a Selection Committee reviewed the two
responses received, determined that Arkansas Childrens
Hospital's was the most qualified, and recommends them for
the contract award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
a contract with Arkansas Childrens' Hospital , in an amount
not to exceed $450,000, with an initial term from December
13, 1996, through December 31, 1997. Said contract shall
contain a provision for two one -year extensions, at the sole
option of the city, and subject to appropriation.
SECTION 2. Funding is available from P.I.T.
