RESOLUTION NO. 9,877
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH ARKANSAS CARES, A
DIVISION OF UAMS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$157,500 FOR WOMEN #S EVENING OUTPATIENT
TREATMENT IN 1997, AUTHORIZING TWO ADDITIONAL
ONE YEAR TERMS AT THE SOLE OPTION OF THE CITY,
AND SUBJECT TO APPROPRIATION; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Little Rock Budget ordinance 17,336, (December
17, 1996) appropriated $175,000 for Women's Evening
Outpatient Treatment, and an independent evaluation of same;
and
WHEREAS, women's treatment providers were solicited
through a Request for Qualifications process to determine the
best qualified provider of treatment services; and
WHEREAS, Arkansas Cares, the current provider, submitted
the only response; and
WHEREAS, a Selection Committee reviewed Arkansas Cares'
proposal, determined that it was responsive, and recommends
Arkansas Cares as qualified to deliver said services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
a contract with Arkansas Cares, a division of UAMS, in an
amount not to exceed $157,500, with an initial term from
January 1, 1997, through December 31, 1997. Said contract
shall contain a provision for two one -year extensions, at the
sole option of the city, and subject to appropriation.
SECTION 2. Funding is available from P.I.T.
