A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY

MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT

WITH MCV, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION OF

THE EAST CAPITOL AVENUE STREETSCAPE

(FERRY TO ROCK), A 1988 CAPITAL

IMPROVEMEXTS BOND PROJECT.

WHEREAS, this project will consist of streetscaping and
14
related amenities, including trees, brick pavers, benches, trash
15
receptacles, pedestrian and street lights, curbs and gutters,
16
sidewalks and curb inlets; and
17
WHEREAS, this project is the first phase of the East
18
Capitol Avenue Streetscape which runs from Ferry Street to
19
Woodlane Street; and
20
WHEREAS, the project will affect all of the downtown area,
21
with increased economic impact by development along Capitol
22
Avenue due to streetscape amenities and enhanced image; and
23
WHEREAS, this construction project will also compliment the
24
East Markham Streetscape project and related improvements at
25
Riverfront Park.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
27
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a
29
contract with Mcv, Inc., the lowest bidder meeting
30
specifications in an amount not to exceed $559,057.02
31
($508,233.65 + 10% contingency) for construction of the East
32
Capitol Avenue Streetscape (Ferry to Rock), a 1988 Capital
33
Improvements Bond Projects.
34
SECTION 2. Funding for this project is available-in account
35
number 301 - 230 -0250 and 210- 220 -0540.
