9719r1 1 ° 2 t� 0 3 4 5 a O 6 D 7 g y�10 Q ll tWI 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 q28 0 29 30 31 m `) 32 0 33 34 35 36 0 RESOLUTION NO. 9.719 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT PROVIDING $462,350 IN HOME PROGRAM FUNDS TO VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA OF ARKANSAS. 376 WHEREAS, the proposal is consistent with the City's Consolidated Plan, which was developed with extensive citizen participation; and WHEREAS, the Consolidated Plan identified the provision of standard, affordable housing to low- income persons exhibiting special needs as a priority; and WHEREAS, Volunteers of America of Arkansas has an option to purchase one -third of the Westside School for conversion into 50 single -room occupancy housing units for homeless persons exhibiting special needs; and WHEREAS, Volunteers of America has secured Section 8 SRO Moderate Rehabilitation Grant funds from HUD for tenant rental subsidies, low- income housing tax credits, and bank financing to undertake the development; and WHEREAS, tenants will be provided support services in addition to the housing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement to provide $462,350 in HOME funds for use by Volunteers of America of Arkansas to renovate the South one -third of Westside School.
