A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE

PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FOR THE CENTRAL

HIGH SCHOOL MUSEUM; TO AUTHORIZE

THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE

ANY NECESSARY PAPERS; AND FOR OTHER

PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, during the 1996 State of the City Address the
13
Mayor stated a desire to create a state park at Central High
14
School; and
15
WHEREAS, there has been an effort to create a museum at the
16 location which accentuates the positive history of this seventy
17 year old campus, as well as the international news events that
18 occurred in 1957; and
19 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has set aside monies to
20 assist in the creation of a museum at this location; and
21 WHEREAS, after appropriate title searches and environmental
22 inspections it has been determined that appropriate properties
23 to house a museum located across from the school are for sale
24 and can be purchased without any known environmental risks.
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
26 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
27 SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to
28 execute any documents necessary to purchase the property
29 described below to be used as a part of the Central High School
30 Museum:
31 Tract 1: The South 50 feet of Lots 10,
32 11 and 12, Block 6, Park Addition, Little
33 Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.

35 Tract 2: The North 100 feet of Lot 3 and
36 the West 24 feet of the North 100 Feet of
