A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT
WITH AQUA CONSTRUCTION
INTERNATIONAL, INC., FOR RENOVATION
OF GILLAM POOL FACILITY, A 1995
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOND PROJECT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, .ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contract 'with Aqua Construction International, Inc., the most
qualified bidder meeting specifications, in an amount not to
exceed $434,500 for renovation of Gillam Pool Facility, a 1995
Capital Improvement Bond Project.
SECTION 2. Funds are available for this purpose in account
number 303- 230 - 0390 -8010.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the
contract be awarded to the low bidder meeting the bid
requirements. Gould Construction was the apparent low bidder,
however, they failed to provide references and evidence of being
qualified to do this type work as called for in the
specifications of this bid. A letter from the engineer for this
project is attached. It is also recommended that any required
change orders be approved by the City Manager.
