WHEREAS, the 1996 Budget Ordinance contained funding for adult drug and alcohol treatment; and WHEREAS, the Arkansas Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention ( "ADAP ") has a long history of administering residential alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs in the state of Arkansas; and el WHEREAS, the ADAP administered a contract to provide residential adult alcohol and drug treatment programs in the City during 1995, and preliminary data indicates that the program provided cost- effective services with a high success rate; and WHEREAS, a competitive bidding process was conducted, and ADAP was the only responding firm. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the Arkansas Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention in the amount of Three Hundred Thirty -five Thousand Dollars ($335,000) to purchase adult treatment services for residents of the City of Little Rock.
