RESOLUTION NO. 9 608
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE DOWN'T'OWN
PARTNERSHIP AND THE CROMWELL FIRM IN AN
AMOUNT ANTICIPATED NOT TO EXCEED $68,000 TO
PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE
RIVERFEST AMPHITHEATRE PROJECT; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WH MEAS, the. City is engaged in the expansion of the
Riverfest Amphitheatre in the Julius Breckling Riverfront Park;
and
WHF.RF.AS, it is necessary to engage architectural services
to assist in the design of these facilities; and
WHF.RF.AS, after a competitive selection process in December,
1995, it was determined that the Cromwell Firm was the most
qualified applicant for the job of the three firms that bid for
this work; and
WHEREAS, the City will control the nature of the
improvements at the park, but the Downtown Partnership will be
exclusively responsible for the payment of the Cromwell Firms
fees in an amount anticipated to not exceed $68,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an
agreement approved by the City Attorney with the Downtown
Partnership and the Cromwell Firm which provides that the
Cromwell Firm shall provide architectural and design services,
to be approved by the City, for Phase II improvements to the
Riverfest Amphitheatre, provided that the source of payment of
the anticipated $68,000, is the responsibility of the Downtown
Partnership without recourse against the City.
