A RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE INTENT OF THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO SEEK AN AMENDMENT OF
STATE LAW TO PERMIT ENLARGEMENT OF THE LITTLE
ROCK MUNICIPAL AIRPORT COMMISSION; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City has conducted an extended review of the
Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission and its practices; and
WHEREAS, as a result of that review the Board of Directors
has determined that an increase in the size of the Commission
from five (5) members to seven (7) members is desirable, but
that such a change is not possible without a change in
legislation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board states its intent to seek legislation
at the earliest possible session of the General Assembly to
permit an increase in the size of the Little Rock Municipal
Airport Commission from five (5) to seven (7) members. This
intent is in addition to expressed intentions to seek
legislation that permits the appointment and removal of
commissioners by majority vote of the governing body of the City
creating such a commission.
