A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ALLOCATE $175,000 FROM
THE 1995 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BOND
FUND FOR THE CHILDREN'S ZOO PROJECT;
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AN ARCHITECTURAL,
ENGINEERING AND MARKETING SERVICES
CONTRACT WITH CLR DESIGN, INC. IN
THE AMOUNT OF $153,300 TO PREPARE A
MASTER PLAN AND A MARKETING PLAN FOR
THE CHILDREN'S ZOO.
the Zoo is visited over 400,000 times by citizens
and serves as a significant community focal point;
WHEREAS, it is time to develop a master plan that excites
and ultimately enriches the animals environment along with
visitors experience as a whole; and
WHEREAS, to ensure the master plans success, a marketing
plan is needed to identify funds outside the City's budget that
will support specific steps in accomplishing a complete Zoo
within a seven to ten year span; and
WHEREAS, Friends of the Zoo board members support the
project and have adopted a resolution to provide 50$ of the
funds needed for these services; and
WHEREAS, their share will be forthcoming as their funds
become available, which is anticipated in the first quarter of
1997.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS;
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to allocate
$175,000 from the 1995 Capital Improvement Bond Fund for the
Children's Zoo Project.

SECTION 2. The City Manager is also author to enter into an
architectural, engineering and marketing services contract with
CLR Design, Inc. in the amount of $155,300 to prepare a master
plan and a marketing plan for the Children's Zoo.
SECTION 3. Funding for this project is available from the
1995 Capital Improvement Bond Fund.
