MANAGER TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A
CONTRACT TO COM13ATEL DISTRIBUTION
COMPANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF A DIGGER
DERRICK TRUCK FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS- OPERATIONS.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept bids
and award a contract to Combatel Distribution of North Little
Rock, Arkansas, the low bidder meeting specifications, in an
amount not to exceed $109,843 for the purchase of a digger
derrick truck for the Department of Public Works - Operations.
SECTION 2. Funds are available for these purchases in
account number 600 -360- 6020- 6021 - 7060 -10.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION AND DISCUSSION: It is recommended that the award be given to
Combatel Distribution as the low bidder meeting specifications. Altec bid a
unit that didn't meet the minimum boom compacity and they had an option to bid
a unit that exceeded the specifications. They also chose to bid a hydraulic
release instead of an air anger release which was specified. Combatel could
have the hydraulic release which is a less expensive option.
