A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT
WITH TEMPLE, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE
OF EQUIPMENT FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL
INTERCONNECT SYSTEM TO BE INSTALLED
ALONG THE WEST MARKHAN /CHENAL
PARKWAY CORRIDOR.
WHEREAS, this project will install a traffic signal
interconnect system along the West Markham /Chenal Parkway
Corridor utilizing wireless radio communications instead of
copper wire cable; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works Traffic Engineering
Division prepared plans and specifications for purchase of the
equipment to accomplish this project; and
WHEREAS, City crews will be responsible for installing this
interconnect equipment in existing intersections.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contract with Temple, Inc., the low bidder meeting
specifications, in the amount of '$49,721, for the purchase of
equipment for a traffic signal interconnect system to be
installed along the West Markham /Chenal Parkway Corridor. An
additional expenditure of $15,000 may be necessary to complete
this project; however, this amount is less than the original
estimate.
SECTION 2. Funding is available for this project from the
1995 Bond Project.
