RESOLUTION NO. 9,494
A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT CARL F.
SCHEIBNER AND RALPH L. WHITE TO THE
TWO NEW POSITIONS ON THE LITTLE ROCK
WATERWORKS COMMISSION; SETTING THE
INITIAL TERMS OF THESE NEW MEMBERS;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors, pursuant to Act 789 of
the 1995 General Assembly, has adopted an ordinance to increase
the size of the Little Rock Waterworks Commission from three (3)
members to five (5) members, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to State law, the Commission has
nominated Carl F. Scheibner and Ralph L. White to serve as the
first appointees in'these new positions, and
WHEREAS, these appointments, in accordance with state law,
must be made so that there are successive conclusions of terms
for commission members, but that no two (2) members' term expire
in the same year, and
WHEREAS, by at least a two thirds (2/3) vote, the Board of
Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, approve of the
two nominations made by the Little Rock Waterworks Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Carl F. Scheibner is hereby appointed to a new
position as a member of the Little Rock Waterworks Commission for
an initial term to expire on October 31, 2000, provided that the
first person appointed to a full term in this position, and all
persons thereafter, shall serve for a period of eight (8) years.
SECTION 2. Ralph L. White is hereby appointed to a new
position as a member of the Little Rock Waterworks Commission for
an initial term to expire on October 31, 2002, provided that the
first person appointed to a full term in this position, and all
persons thereafter, shall serve for a period of eight (8) - years::
