HE WHEREAS, the City has decided to enter into contractual agreements with Waste Management, Inc., to provide for some garbage collection and recycling services; and WHEREAS, the cost of said service will be in excess of the amount presently charged persons within the City; and WHEREAS, the City should offset any increase in costs for a period of at least two years, or beyond. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is directed to review the budget resources of the City, including any monies realized from the long distance telecommunication franchise fee, and to present a program that assures that until 1997 no citizen will pay any increases occasioned by garbage or recycling services provided by Waste Management, Inc.
