RESOLUTION NO. 9,395
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF LOTS 10 AND 11, BLOCK
1 OF POPE'S ADDITION, TO BE USED FOR
THE RIVERFRONT PLAZA PROJECT;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE EMINENT DOMAIN
PROCEEDINGS IF NECESSARY.
WHEREAS, the Riverfront Plaza Project was approved by the
voters in the 1994 Bond issue; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors previously appropriated funds
for park improvements in LRO #16,839; and
WHEREAS, to complete this project it will be necessary to
condemn certain real property; and
WHEREAS, the property, Lots 10 and 11, Block i of Pope's
Addition, has been appraised for the City; and
WHEREAS, the City's purchase offer was rejected by the owners
of the lots.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate the
purchase of Lots 10 and 11, Block 1 of Pope's Addition to the City
of Little Rock, for the Riverfront Plaza project.
SECTION 2. The sum of Ninety Thousand One Hundred Eight and
38/100 Dollars ($90,108.38) is hereby allocated from funds
previously appropriated in account number 303 - 230 -0391 to make the
initial deposit in the Registry of the Court as required by law.
