9383M M 0 0 RESOLUTION NO. 9,383 A RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF HEARING ON THE PROPOSAL TO PLACE A PERMANENT BARRICADE ACROSS WEST TENTH STREET AT THE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING BETWEEN JONES AND THAYER STREETS IN ROOTS AND COY'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, Union Pacific Railroad Company has requested the at -grade crossing on West Tenth Street be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for safety reasons; and WHEREAS, the sight distance to the south is inadequate for vehicles violating the crossing when the gates are down; and WHEREAS, the closure will eliminate the need for frequent maintenance of the railroad signals and cross -arms which are constantly vandalized; and WHEREAS, this connection is not needed for through traffic, since adequate and safe access can be provided via I -630, 7th Street and 12th Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The hearing on the proposal to place a permanent barricade across West 10th Street at the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing shall be held at the meeting of the Board of Directors in the City Hall at 6:00 o'clock P.M. on the 6th day of June, 1995. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law by publication once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and having general circulation in the City of Little Rock.
