A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO PURCHASE A SITE FOR A NEW
FIRE STATION AT 5400 SOUTH
UNIVERSITY AVENUE.

WHEREAS, the voters approved expanding existing fire
stations as part of the 1995 Capital Improvements Bond Issue;
and
WHEREAS, the University Avenue fire station is one of the
older stations that has outlived its usefulness; and
WHEREAS; the existing fire station will be demolished and
adjoining property will be purchased to accommodate a new
facility; and
WHEREAS, a new fire station will be built on the site of
the existing fire station; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends purchasing the 14,000 square foot
site located at 5400 South University Avenue, south of the
existing fire station, for development of a new facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to purchase a
site for a new fire station at 5400 South University Avenue.
SECTION 2. Funding for this purpose is available through
the 1995 Bond issue.
