93421 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 9 NO. 9.342 11 A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO FUND THREE ADDITIONAL ALERT CENTERS AT OAR FOREST, EAST BROADWAY, AND WEST BASELINE ROAD TO BE PAID FOR OUT OF THE $500,000 GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has funded alert centers throughout the City using either grant monies or monies provided by the one -half cent sales tax approved in December, 1993; and WHEREAS, the City has received a $500,000 federal grant that has been secured through the efforts of Congressman Ray Thornton and, the City has learned that these funds can be used to finance alert centers; and WHEREAS, the Board believes that the alert centers should be located in the Oak Forest, East Broadway, and West Baseline Road neighborhoods and that they are essential to the revitalization of neighborhoods which is essential to the continued positive growth and development of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Board states its intent to fund three additional alert centers in the Oak Forest, East Broadway, and West Baseline Road neighborhoods and to fund these with funds from the $500,000 grant secured from the federal government through the efforts of Congressman Ray Thornton.
