93271 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 RESOLUTION NO. 9,327 RESOLUTION or SUPPORT JC11 CONGRESSIONAL EFFORTS 70 r' r r :ir r r • r • :i• i E r �• : • :r CLERK To TRANSMIT THIES RESOLUTION :1: r YJ • r • PURPOSES. 56 WHEREAS, the United States Congress is currently debating proposals to see unfunded mandates by the federal government on state and local governments, and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors is in full support of this concept because it assures better municipal services to the citizens when valuable tax dollars are not siphoned off to pay for federal programs that may not have any real relation to the needs of local citizens, and WHEREAS, to continue to require unfunded federal mandates is in violation of the guarantees that cities and states should enjoy pursuant to the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Board of Directors states its support for federal legislation that would prohibit the federal government from forcing unfunded federal mandates upon state and local governments. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is directed to send copies of this resolution to the Arkansas congressional delegation and to the Pulaski County legislative delegation as soon as possible.
