A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO SUPPORT A
GRANT REQUEST FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION TO OBTAIN MONIES FOR
A CENTRAL ARKANSAS TRANSIT AUTHORITY
TRANSFER STATION; TO AGREE TO
PROVIDE $590,000 FROM EXCESS TAX
RECEIPTS IN THE FUTURE-LITTLE ROCK
RESERVE FUNDS IF THE FEDERAL GRANT
IS FORTHCOMING; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA) has
asked the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and other participating
governments, to approve a grant request from the Department of
Transportation for monies to build a transfer station; and
WHEREAS, the City's portion of the matching monies for this
request would be $590,000 which can be transferred from the
reserve account for excess Future- Little Rock tax receipts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors states its intent to
participate in the building of a transfer station for the CATA
if grant funds are received from the U.S. Department of
Transportation for this purpose, and further agrees that this
participation will be in the amount of $590,000.
SECTION 2. The monies necessary to fulfill the City's
obligations pursuant to Section 1 will come from Account No.
100 -8513 when and if the City receives written confirmation that
the grant has been awarded and the federal monies are soon to be
transferred to CATA.
