A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY

NANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT

WITH GLOBAL, USA, TO ACT AS A GRANT
5
SPECIALIST TO ASSIST THE CITY IN
6
SECURING FEDERAL GRANT MONIES; AND

FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the FUTURE- Little Rock process identified a need
10 for a grant writer for the City to be located in the City
11
Manager's office, and
12 WHEREAS, in addition it was determined that the City should
13 contract with a grant specialist in the Washington, D.C., area
14 to assist the City to secure federal grant monies that are
15 available to municipalities; and
16 WHEREAS, a request for qualifications was issued in order
17 to secure bids from legal firms or sole practitioners near
18 Washington, D.C., and the City committee that reviewed the
19 proposals concluded that Global, USA was the most qualified
20 firm; and
21 WHEREAS, the City Manager has been able to negotiate a
22 contract with Global, USA, that is within the budgeted amount
23 set aside by the City.
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
25 TgE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
26 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a
27 contractual agreement with Global, USA, of Washington, D.C., for
28 a period of one year to assist the City in securing federal
29 grant monies that are available to municipalities in an amount
30 not to exceed four thousand five hundred ($4500) dollars per
31 month, plus expenses, but in no event not to exceed sixty
32 thousand ($60,000) dollars per year.
33 SECTION 2. The City Attorne y is directed to
prepare any
34 necessary contract documents for execution by appropriate city
35 officials.
