A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO
ARKAK, INC. FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO
MCCLEIJaN HIGH SCHOOL.

WHEREAS, the Task Force for McClellan Community School
recommends that the courtyards be enclosed for the school; and
WHEREAS, the canopy would allow students to sit in the
courtyard as well as decrease the wind and rain drafting that
occurs through the halls of the school; and
WHEREAS, $25,000 was appropriated in the half cent sales
tax for improvements to McClellan High School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contract with Arkak, Inc., of Benton, Arkansas, the low bidder
meeting specifications, in an amount not to exceed $23,648.45,
for the installation of a canopy /walkway for McClellan High
School.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS 425
ORDINANCE NO. 16,561 (DECEMBER 21, 1993), THE 1994 BUDGET
ORDINANCE, AND TO PROVIDE FUNDS FROM THE ONE -HALF
CENT SALES TAX REVENUES TO FUND MCCLELLAN HIGH
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, on December 14, 1993, voters of the City of Little Rock approved
a one -half cent local sales tax effective February 1, 1994, to fund various new service
initiatives designed to address many needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors established a number of task forces that
included Board Members, citizens and staff to evaluate the best methods to implement
the initiatives contemplated in the development of the sales tax proposal, and these task
forces have delivered their recommendations to the Board and requested funding; and
WHEREAS, the service initiatives to be funded by the sales tax address critical
needs of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The sum of $25,000 is hereby appropriated from the proceeds of
the one -half cent sales tax adopted in December, 1993, and transferred from the General
Fund to the Special Projects Fund and designated for the following needs:
$25,000 for remodeling costs for the McClellan Community High School.
SECTION 2. DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. It is hereby found and
determined that there is an immediate and urgent need to provide the additional
services funded by the one -half cent local sales tax approved by the voters of the City
of Little Rock, and that these additional services are essential for the protection of the
