A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT BIDS AND AWARD A
CONTRACT TO HAROLD DAVIS
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY TO COMPLETE THE
NECESSARY REPAIRS TO THE EXISTING
BRIDGE PILE SUPPORTS ON THE
MABELVALE PIKE /FOURCHE CREEK BRIDGE.

WHEREAS, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department
has inspected the bridge at Mabelvale Pike /Fourche Creek and
discovered that the existing steel piles are rusting at the
waterline; and
WHEREAS, the structural support of the bridge is completely
dependent upon these piles; and
WHEREAS, the repair work will encase these steel piles in
concrete and, therefore, preserve the structural integrity of
the bridge; and
WHEREAS, failure to complete these repairs could result in
loss of federal highway aid monies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept bids
and award a contract to Harold Davis Construction Company, of
Little Rock, Arkansas, the low bidder meeting specifications, in
an amount not to exceed $27,141 ($23,600.87 plus 15%
contingency) to complete necessary repairs to the existing
bridge pile supports on the bridge at Mabelvale Pike /Fourche
Creek as outlined by the Arkansas Highway and Transportation
Department Inspection Reports.
SECTION 2. Funds are available for this purpose in account
number 210 - 220 -0141.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
