RESOLUTION NO. 9,185
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONCEPT
OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMMUNITY
SCHOOL BY THE LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL
DISTRICT, TO EXPLORE THE
POSSIBILITIES OF COOPERATING WITH
THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IN PLACING CITY
PROGRAMS WITHIN THE SCHOOL; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Little Rock School Board has expressed an
interest in constructing a new community school on the site of
the old Stephens School; and
WHEREAS, the School Board has expressed an interest in
having the City of Little Rock be a part of the school by having
an Alert Center and other City services as a part of the school;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
are supportive of such a concept.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board is fully supportive of the concept of
a community school to be constructed by the Little Rock School
District. The Board hereby resolves to work with the School
Board to explore the idea of a community school and cooperate
fully in the development of the idea.
