TO INCLUDE COMPUTER HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE TO BRING MOBILE DATA TERMINALS (MDT'S) ON LINE FOR THE POLICE AND FIRE 367 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance 16,281 (October 6 1992), authorized the purchase of 75 MDT'S without the computer equipment to operate the units because the delivery date would be one year; and WHEREAS, Motorola needed several months to determine the most efficient method for implementing data transmission over the radio system; and WHEREAS, the City has reached an agreement with Motorola to provide the interface hardware and software to link the MDT's to the Police and Fire information systems, as well as the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC); and WHEREAS, once the MDT's are brought on line, police officers will be able to do many transactions from their vehicles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to execute a $157,593 change order with Motorola, Inc. to include computer hardware and software to bring 75 Mobile Data Terminals (MDT's) on line for the Police and Fire Departments.
