RESOLUTION NO. 8,962
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXTEND CONTRACTS WITH IBM
CORP. AND NCR CORPORATION FOR CITY
MAINFRAME COMPUTER HARDWARE
AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE.

WHEREAS, the contract to NCR Corporation and IBM corp. to
provide City mainframe computer hardware and software maintenance
was approved by Resolution Number 8,757, dated August 4, 1992;
and
WHEREAS, the City's NCR mainframe currently supports the
computer- aided - dispatch system of the office of Emergency
Services; and
WHEREAS, IBM mainframes include Finance, Personnel, Parks,
Public Works, Fire, and Police information systems.
WHEREAS, a two year renewal clause was included in each
bid; and
WHEREAS, current annual costs are $161,000 (IBM) and
$64,100 (NCR).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to extend
the contract with IBM Corp. and NCR Corporation to provide City
mainframe computer hardware and software maintenance for a one
year period.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is further authorized to
approve future extensions in accordance with the bid
specifications.
SECTION 3: Funding has been provided in account
113 - 1350 -4122.
