3 A RESOLUTION AWARDING FUNDS AVAILABLE
4 UNDER THE 1993 EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT
5 PROGRAM TO UNITED WAY OF PULASKI
6 COUNTY TO BE DISBURSED TO PROVIDERS OF
7 HOMELESS ASSISTANCE.

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, as a CDBG entitlement
10 City, is eligible for funding under the Stewart B. McKinney
11 Homeless Assistance Act; and
12 WHEREAS, since 1988, the program has addressed the critical
13 needs of the nation's homeless population; and
14 WHEREAS, City staff has developed a Comprehensive Housing
15 Affordability Strategy (CHAS), which inventories existing shelter
16 facilities and services, and identifies areas of unmet need, which
17 also includes a strategy to match needs with available facilities
18 and services; and
19 WHEREAS, the United Way solicited applications from
20 providers of homeless assistance and convened the Emergency
21 Shelter Grant Committee to make recommendations for funding:
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
24 SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorize the
25 disbursement of funds available under the 1993 Emergency shelter
26 Grant to the United Way of Pulaski County to be dispersed to
27 providers of homeless assistance. These funds shall be allocated
28 as follows:
29 Advocates for Battered Women $11,000
30 Gyst House, Inc. 6,000
Our House, Inc. 8,300
31 Centers for Youth and Families/
Stepping Stone 3,850
32 Serenity Park 3.850
