A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH TRANSAMERICA
INSURANCE COMPANY TO PROVIDE EXCESS
COVERAGE (REINSURANCE) FOR THE CITY'S
WORKERS' COMPENSATION PROGRAM FOR A ONE
YEAR PERIOD EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1993.
WHEREAS, reinsurance coverage is designed to provide
protection against catastrophic losses to the City's Workers'
Compensation program during any workers' compensation plan year;
and
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposal was issued in April 1993,
for reinsurance coverage for the City's self- insured Workers'
Compensation program; and
WHEREAS, the proposal from TransAmerica Insurance company d
provides the best coverage at the lowest cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with TransAmerica Insurance Company to provide
excess coverage (reinsurance) for the City's Workers' Compensation
Program for a one year period effective July 1, 1993.
