A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE
WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
TO UTILIZE FEDERAL -AID MONIES FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF KANIS ROAD FROM I -430
TO MICHAEL DRIVE, A 1988 CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT BOND PROJECT; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL
APPROPRIATE AGREEMENTS AND CONTRACTS;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES_

WHEREAS, this project will widen Kanis Road to five lanes
from I -430 to Junior Deputy, four lanes from Junior Deputy to
Michael Drive; left turn lanes will be constructed at Medical
Center Drive and Emergency Drive; and the existing five lane
section between Physicians Drive and Rose Street will not be
reconstructed; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock understands Federal -Aid
Surface Transportation funds are available for projects on City
streets at the following Federal participating ratios:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock will participate in
accordance with its designated responsibility in this project.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts
necessary to expedite the construction of the improvements on City
streets.
SECTION 3. The City of Little Rock pledges its full support
and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and
Transportation Department to initiate action to construct this
project.
