WHEREAS, the 1988 Capital Improvement Bond Issue included a
14 specific ballot question authorizing monies with which to
15 construct a park in the City of Little Rock; and
16 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has been unable to find a
17 park site to date that met the requirement set by the Board of
18 Directors; and
19 WHEREAS, it is necessary to define certain parameters for
20 this park site and to authorize City staff to advertise for a
21 site and to take other steps to make recommendations; and
22 WHEREAS, the Board wishes that the staff utilize to the
23 extent possible other interests that have been identified in
24 discussions by the Board and in Little Rock, Ark., Res. No.
25 8,796 (October 6, 1992).
26 WHEREAS, the site chosen should avoid close proximity to
27 other existing park sites.
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
29 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
30 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby directed and
31 authorized to begin advertisement for a 250 acre park for the
32 western portion of Little Rock defined as follows: the area
33 south of Highway 10 and west of University Avenue extended to
34 the Pulaski County Line. In addition to advertisement, the City
35 Manager and staff are directed and authorized to take other

steps to prepare requests for proposals and evaluations of
potential park sites on behalf of the Board of Directors with
75% of the park area for active use and 25% for passive use.
