A RESOLUTION ENDORSING A ONE- QUARTER
CENT SALES AND COMPENSATING USE TAX TO
HELP FINANCE THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS
TRANSIT AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is an active
participant in the Central Arkansas Transit Authority, and
WHEREAS, it is essential to provide additional funding
for this mass transit system in order to meet the mandates
of the Americans with Disabilities Act and to provide
better and more efficient mass transit service to the
citizens of the City of Little Rock, as well as other
citizens within the Authority's jurisdiction, and
WHEREAS, state law provides for a quarter cent sales
and compensating use tax which, if approved by the people,
will assist the Central Arkansas Transit Authority to meet
these obligations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: The Board of Directors endorses the
adoption of a quarter cent sales tax to help finance the
Central Arkansas Transit Authority during the November 3,
1992 general election.
