RESOLUTION OF THE LITTLE ROCK BOARD
OF DIRECTORS— ACCEPTING -THE DONATION - - - --
OF A HISTORIC FOUNTAIN FOR USE BY THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
WHEREAS, a historic fountain that was once located in the
Broadway Street right of way and has been appraised at
approximately $10,000 has been offered to the City of Little
Rock by Thomas and Mary McGowan; and
WHEREAS, the staff of the Parks and Recreation Department
has reviewed the aesthetics and condition of the fountain and
recommends accepting it; and
WHEREAS, Capitol Avenue is in the early stages of design
and the consultants, donor, and Parks and Recreation Department
staff agree it is a suitable location for this fountain; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is willing to
dismantle and store the fountain pending restoration at a
selected site.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Little Rock Board of Directors hereby
accepts this donation of a historic fountain for a mutually
agreeable use and with the conditions stated in the letter of
agreement between the donors and the City of Little Rock.
